Founded by Leah Fenton and Mike Wright, Bee Shed is a hands-on, nature-based after-school club for primary-aged children in Kent.
Designed to spark curiosity and connect young people with the natural world, Bee Shed invites children to take part in the full beekeeping journey- from building hives and cultivating colonies to harvesting (and tasting!) their own honey.
At Bee Shed, children will:
-
Build and care for real beehives
-
Learn to safely work with bees
-
Explore pollination and plant life
-
Produce and enjoy the honey they've helped create
-
Understand the essential role bees play in our environment
Did you know that one-third of the food we eat relies on pollinators like bees?
Or that a single honeybee can visit up to 5,000 flowers in a single day?
Bees are vital- and so is teaching the next generation to care for them. More than just a club, Bee Shed is a growing hive of learning and community, where children can explore, create, and care- together.
